Self Portrait
During the Selfie project, we were required to take a photo of ourselves and use illustrator to recreate our pictures.
Reflection
What was your initial thoughts on the Selfie Project?
I was actually nervous about what it was going to turn out like. I am not the best when it comes to multimedia and sort of dreaded the outcome of this project but I was determined not to make my finial photo look horrible.
How did you feel about your Selfie and Adobe Illustrator after the first few days?
Honestly, I liked it a lot. It was looking really cool and even though it was not very detailed and didn't have a nose, I was proud of the shapes and my hair which some how turned out more accurate then I thought it would.
How did you feel about your Selfie and Adobe Illustrator after you were done with the project?
Exhausted and finished. I love the way my photo turned out and feel that I've done to the best of my abilities but when it came to extra credit, I preferred fixing small problems within my first project instead of starting a whole new one.
What helped you most in learning how to use Adobe Illustrator?
Probably just the fact that I was actually interested in it. For the first time in a long time I actually saw the excitement in multimedia and was excited myself for the end of the day so I could sit and learn how to make my nose better or how to make my mouth look like I'm smiling instead of like I was choking.
What part of your Selfie are you most proud of? What would you have liked to have done better?
I am probably most proud of the face area. That's where most of my efforts went to and I had the most trouble with it. If I had to spend more time on it I would work more on the shirt and put in more details there. Otherwise I love my Selfie.
What did you like about the project?
Everything. I was always excited and anticipated the end of the day so I could sit and work on this project, if I'm ever as patient as I was during this project again, I will definitely be using illustrator.
How can the project be improved?
Although it was cool illustrating a photo of myself, I would want to make a little more, so maybe have students choose a picture of themselves and then of something else just so that the first part everyone's working on the same aspects (nose, eyes, mouth, ect) and can help each other but on the next photo it could be a little more personalized and they have to do the work more on their own.
