Teen Issues Project
During the Teen Issues project, we were required to choose a problem related to teens today. When we chose our issues, we had to create a binder full of our research on said issue, write a research paper about the definition, cause and effect of the contention, and, finally, create a public service announcement informing other teens of the dangers produced by that problem. The binder had to contain around 10 articles and webpages each, where they were then carefully looked through and highlighted based on the information found (ex. orange for the effect of your issue). The research paper was a five paragraph essay about the definition, the cause, and the effects that our issue has on adolescents. For the final part of this project it was required to make a 30 second to 2 minute Public Service announcement based on helping teens learn the dangers of our issue.
My partner and I chose bullying as our teen issue. We decided on this topic because instead of adolescents inflicting pain on themselves, like other people's issues, bullying is where teens bully other people. Bullying is when people are sick enough to think that making others feel bad is ok and we wanted to find out their reasoning. In the end both me and my partners (our third group member joining to help with the actual video aspect) received a 200/200 on this project.
I never liked technology. I thought that our video was going to be a bust because there were different views on what should go into the PSA and what shouldn't. But, in the end, it turned out pretty nice and looks really good. I'm proud of what we have completed.
