Quarter 1 Math REFLECTION
This year in math, I feel very comfortable with the subjects I am learning. Not that I wasn't comfortable before. It's just that now, instead of just learning WHAT to do when multiplying, I am learning WHY we are multiplying and HOW we end up with that specific answer. Now I feel like I am actually understanding why I end up with a certain answer instead of just thinking I have to do this because I was told to.
As for Accelerated Math, I always make sure to get my 60 problems done. I just figure, each packet we get is about 20 problems, so if I get about 3 done, I'll be fine. The one thing I find difficult is the "Aha" moments, or flippers because a lot of the stuff we learned this last semester was review for me so I new a lot of it. I rarely had a TRUE moment where I thought, "Oh! That's how you do it!" so writing it down each week was rather hard.

This year, I am most proud of my work in Pre-calculus. Even though I still get confused in some parts of the math, the fact that I'm even getting the chance to TRY and understand it in freshmen year, makes me feel smart and good about the progress I've tried so hard to make. This is where many of my "Aha" moments really came into play. Dawn and Frances' abilities to take a math subject and relate it to real life is really what makes me understand the concepts better, and for that I am incredibly grateful.
