What have you been doing these past two days?
Well first, they wanted to know what topics I am interested in so they gave me time to research their site and different political issues similar to the ones on their site. I've been particularly interested in Russia and the Spanish Youth/the effects they have on the country.
I have also been asked to research different News Papers and Think Tanks in the United States. My research shall be based on the reaction of the provider of such information when referring to the Charlie Hebdo Shootings in Paris this past week.
The information providers include:
New York Times, Washington Post, Wall Street Journal, Brookings (think tank), Council of Foreign Relations (think tank)
Are there any new skill sets you know you need to work on?
Yes, it's definitely my Spanish. Though my Spanish isn't terrible in America it's absolutely atrocious here and sometimes communication is hard. I'm not saying that people are translating wrong, I love them for helping me when it comes to the language barrier, but it's more when we are trying to find the right words to communicate, but cannotand that sometimes makes it difficult.
Any likes or dislikes you have on your first day?
Well it's hard because I have recently had quite a lot of freedom in this country and now I'm sitting inside watching people walk around in the sunshine while I'm infront of a computer all day. however, I have found the information intriguing and have liked all that I have learned so far so maybe that can triumph the wish to go outside. It's cold out anyways.
